 I was tasked with adding drywall taping to the walls of this room.











Step 1: Preperations

What I'll need:
  • Protective paper
  • Scissors
  • Masking tape
  • Different sized spreaders
  • Tikkurila's Presto J (Filler)

















First things first, I'll need to add coverings to the floor and tape them into place. After I've done that, I noticed that there were screws showing through the wall near the window. So before I could add the taping, I had to cover the holes screws with filler.

For this, I used Tikkurila's Presto J and a small spreader to evenly coat the surface. I can then move onto the next step.










Step 2: Adding drywall taping

What I'll need:
  • Different sized spreaders
  • Tikkurila's Presto J (Filler)
  • Paper drywall tape
I'll be using the same filler as I did with the holes from the first step, but for the spreaders I used a 20 cm and a 25 cm one.

First, I'll measure the tape by holding it on the wall until it reaches the bottom. Then I'll bend it where the tape will end and rip it cleanly off from the roll. I then repeat this until I have enough drywall tape to use.

Next I'll spread the filler evenly onto the seam of the wall, so that it coats the whole thing. Then I place the drywall tape onto the filler and press from the middle, so that any excess filler will spew out of the sides. With a spreader I then press on the sides of the tape to smoothen it onto the surface.

After that, I can then start adding more filler on top of the tape, so that the drywall tape is securely in place.


 
 












I repeated this step on the other walls.



































Step 2.5: Adding drywall taping onto the corners

What I'll need:
  • Different sized spreaders
  • Tikkurila's Presto J (Filler)
  • Paper drywall tape 
  • Corner drywall tape 

This step is very similar to step 2, but the application is a bit different. For one of the inner cornes, I used the same paper drywall tape as last time. For all the other inner corners (as well as the outer corners) I used a drywall tape, which had metal in the middle.

















The only difference when applying the tape to the inner and outer corners was that I had to be very generous getting the filler into the corner.



















Step 3: Sanding + adding universal filler

What I'll need: 
  • Different sized spreaders
  • Tikkurila's Presto LF+ (Universal filler)
  • Sandpaper
  • An extension arm (for the sandpaper)
  • Teknos Snickersilote A (spackle)
After letting the filler dry for about 12-24h, I could start sanding the surfaces. For the sandpaper, I used a grit level of P100. I gently sanded the places where I added filler. After that I quickly vaccuumed the walls and floor of any excess trash and dust before I'd start adding universal filler.


















When applying universal filler, I had to cover the drywall tape and add a few centimeters of width of both sides. I used different sized spreaders to apply the universal filler. I repeated adding filler to all the corners and seams and then let it dry for 12-24h. 

































































After the universal filler has fully dried, I repeat the sanding process, then add another layer of universal filler and remembering to add a couple of centimeters of width on both sides.

















While I had to wait awhile until the universal filler would fully dry, in the meantime I added some spackle to the top baseboard and window to cover up any holes.













































Step 3.5: Sanding + adding universal filler (again)

When the universal filler has finally fully dried I then repeated the same process as in step 3. Only now I could fully coat the whole surface with universal filler.













































































After letting it dry and then sanding for the last time, I'm done!

The customer had comissioned to have their panel door repainted. For this, I'll need to remove the old paint from the surface. Step 1: Removing the paint What I'll need: a heat gun paint scrapers a respirator mask protective glasses As I've mentioned before I'll need to remove the old paint. Luckily the surface is coated with is an alkyd paint, so the process of removing it wouldn't be that difficult. First thing before I start any task is for me to use a protective mask and glasses to shield myself from any toxic fumes and from anything getting into my eyes. After this I'd move onward to the task at hand, removing the paint. For this I used a heat gun to soften the paint, then I would scrape the surface with a paint scraper. I was tasked at installing a fiberglass wallpaper, so here is a step by step guide on how I accomplished this. Room (Practice surface treatmenting)

For the whole year I've been painting this room on and off again, so here is a "step by step timelapse" of my progress. (step 1) Preparations: I was given the task painting the walls blue, but before I could do that I had to do some preparations. First, I needed to cover the floor with protective paper (make sure to use paper that doesn't absorb paint easily). Then I'd use masking tape to keep the paper in place + to tape the baseboard. (step 2) Starting off with a blank slate: After I'm done laying down protective paper, I could move forward into painting the walls. To start, I first marked the edges of the baseboard (= jalkalista) with a 50 mm paintbrush using Prof 7  wall paint, which was tinted blue. I'd also mark the room's ceiling molding (= kattolista) with a paint edger (= rajaaja). Lastly I painted around the window casing.
